Employment History

Employed by Toowoomba Foundry 1977, posted to Southern Cross Machinery Sydney 1977.

Undertook and completed Sothern Cross Training Course in Irrigation, Water Supply and Hydraulics during 1977. This course is the only one of its type recognised through the industry as having trained the majority of Australian Irrigation and Water Supply Professionals.

He worked for a number of years in the Industrial Market in Sydney dealing with Air Conditioning Companies and other Industrial customers such as abattoirs and chemical factories.

During 1978 he was transferred to Tamwoth as the branch manager. During his time in this position he was exposed to all types of irrigation and water supply problems.

He then moved to Canberra in 1980 and continued to work in a similar position. Early in 1981 he was transferred to Wagga Wagga, where he has remained.

During this time he has kept up to date by attending various conferences and schools provided by supplier companies such as Grundfor, Davey, Lowara etc. He has also attended several IAA shows in Adelaide and Brisbane.

He has personally, 26 years of experience in the industry, covering a vast array of equipment and knowledge. I was one of the founding Directors of IWG - Independent Water Group, the largest group of independently owned Irrigation outlets in Australia.

Jim has asked to be a guest speaker at numerous field days for example; Olive Growers, Wine Growers and has been a guest lecturer at Charles Sturt University Irrigation Courses.
